Linda Thompson
Linda Thompson takes you beyond the visual to capture tender moments in nature. Her vibrant paintings focus on precise details of her subject. While realism is her style choice, Linda brings magic to her work with spontaneous backgrounds.
Linda was born and raised in Canton, Ohio, and from an early age she knew she was an artist. In 1973, Linda moved her family to Sarasota, Florida in pursuit of a career in commercial art and illustration. With her undeniable passion for art Linda discovered water and marine animals were part of the gulf coast’s landscape.
Being a self-taught artist, Linda fine tunes her craft by emersing herself in anatomy, composition and color. With her professional background she has learned the patience to observe wildlife and the drive to be a successful artist.
The world that Linda creates beneath the waves has opened a door for Linda to take her paintings to the next generation, teaching by example the importance of maintaining our oceans for the future.
Many of Linda’s pieces are available in different sizes and prices. Pictures here are representative of a much larger body of work.
