“Archie Goodwin” and “Phillip Marlowe” complaining that “There’s never enough seating room around here”.
Buddy looking out of the window waiting for the rain to stop so he can go outside and do what he does best. Play, play, play!
Wister was rescued by a team from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during the Spring 2011 floods in Memphis and traveled to Venice where he met the fine folks at the Gallery who beautifully framed his family’s Mai Yap print and gave him this hat.
This is my Jazzy (on the right) and his best friend Herbie. These pictures were snapped while they were shopping with their “moms”!
Lola trying to take a nap.
“Rascal” after his first doctor’s appointment. He was poked and prodded in places he didn’t even know he had places.
Sheila(German Shepherd)lost her best friend and mentor, Lucy. After a few months we brought Buddy(Border Collie) home. Sheila assumed the position of Mom and nurtured him as a mother, forever! (6 years). Although she is gone,he misses “mom” every day. He is 101/2 now, and still the perfect gentleman. Love conquers all !!!
Bella in her party dress.
Tootsie is a nine years old Westie. She has a lively spirit, and loves to go on walks and meet people and other pets more than a treat. She adores her sister, Tina (another Westie). Loves cats and climbs just like one! Tootsie and Tina are the best “pesty Westies!” Tootsie greets everyone with a trumpet call that she’s done since birth, a wooo-wooo-wooo which is very cute.
Eli Winston returns! After winning last year as a three month old Kitten, Eli was reluctant to enter the contest again. But he says; “I don’t need to win in order to be a ‘winner’ for the Humane Society cats and dogs.” So here he is all grown up, doing his ‘Hawaiian Cool Cat’ act after watching the original TV Hawaii Five-0 CDs.
Tango “tows the line” and soaks up some sun as the designated “observer”. He keeps a watchful eye for, you guessed it, gators!
Casper, the friendly dog enjoys going to the beach to play with his friends and swim in the Gulf of Mexico. At home,he stays cool rolling in the grass under a shade tree while chewing a stick.Life is good for this Beagle Boy.

To have a cat’s life is to live in consciousness…If you want to feel the warm Venice breezes, smell the flowers and enjoy the beauty that surrounds (geiko climbing the lanai screen, birds in the tall palms,or the fruit on our trees) then spend a day with my dear friend Toby! She has taught me to see and feel the beauty that is Venice…
Coco & Stella like to cool off in the grass!
During the summer, Angel & Jack like taking long walks followed by airconditioned naps. They are both very patriotic and love Memorial Day and July 4th.
Yogi Busted! We knew he must be using kitty door to get out but couldn’t catch him. He was seen walking down the street like this.
Roscoe is a Jack Russell Chihuahua mix (we think). He loves fuzzy bones, squeaky toys and will beg and chase for them.
Jessie May is a true Southern gal. She loves to relax…a lot…and loves to sleep up high so she doesn’t miss out on anything. Her walks are more like reconnaissance tour of the neighborhood. Who’s new? She loves riding in the car with her head out the window and wears her “doggles” to protect her eyes. She’s adorable and knows it.
Lucy gives love and kisses to patients in assisted living and Hospice. They return the favor with wheelchair rides.
