It all began in Wichita, Kansas where as a child Don was always drawing pictures. After high school, he studied at Kansas City Art Institute with a major in Design and a minor in Painting. Upon graduation, Don worked in the commercial art field as a Designer/Illustrator, participating in a variety of creative businesses.
He found his commercial career interesting and challenging but desired to be a full-time painter from early youth. To follow that dream, he has painted and exhibited at a variety of galleries which include Robbin Gallery, Robbinsdale, MN., Marshall Fields Gallery, Minneapolis, MN., Phipps Art Center, Hudson, WI., Bryans Gallery, Taos, NM
His paintings were featured in movie “Factotin” and featured artist for jazz.com, October 2009. Don’s work is in the collections of Hormel Corp., Born Communications Corp., St. Francis Health Services Corp., Wild Onion Restaurant and numerous private collections. Collectors’ Gallery & Framery is proud to now represent his original work.
