Underwater Photographer (& self proclaimed “Fish Geek”)
It should be easy to see that photographing the ocean and its inhabitants is not just a private hobby. It’s a complete obsession.
For almost 6 years, I lived in the Turks and Caicos Islands, working as a captain aboard a 130′ yacht. For those years, and many before that, since I started diving in school, I spent every spare minute under water, not just doing photography but learning about and studying my fishy friends. But just because I’m back in the USA doesn’t mean I’ve slowed down! I’m traveling or on assignment more than I’m home! The images in my collection represent more than 30 different countries!
The photos you see here are a small representation of the images I create. To create wildlife art, I carefully narrow down my images to around one in several thousand, that not only show something beautiful, but immortalize the moment with an emotion or odd behavior. These images have not been altered in photoshop – they are straight from the camera. I regularly shoot for magazines, tourism boards, corporate clients, museums, private collectors, and anyone else who loves underwater photography.
All prints are created with archival inks on archival-quality papers or canvas. I gaurantee the prints to hold colorfast for a minimum of 85 years, provided they are framed behind glass and not in direct sunlight. My gallery-wrapped canvases are rated colorfast for 100 years, but like any art, should also be kept out of long-term direct sunlight. Canvases are often hung as-is, but there are plenty of ways to create a beautiful frame or floater to match your existing decor & enhance the art.
