Catherine Hill Beausoleil was born a Pisces and has spent most of her life in Southwest Florida. Growing up on the Gulf Coast fired her passion for the tropical environment. The local underwater world is a recurring theme of Catherine’s work.
Catherine graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in sculpture. With her background in sculpture, jewelry, painting and art education, she prefers working in three-dimensional media.
Catherine Beausoleil creates unique ceramic murals, bas-relief wall sculpture and silk paintings. Texture, vibrant colors and fluid line design are prominent features of her artwork. The original 3-D style and technique invite the viewer to touch and feel her pieces. She believes this is another way to “view” her art.
Catherine created several public art projects including a Venice “Pig in Paradise”, a Kaleidoscope Butterfly” of Lakeland, Florida and the ceramic tile mural, “MerKids” at the interactive splash park in Venice, Florida.
Cathy’s been an imaginative artist since the age of 3, when she contracted Paralytic Polio. She has won many art awards during her lifetime, including the Arts & Cultural Alliance’s Muses 2006 Award for Outstanding Individual Artist, 2007 Arts Champion Award and 2008 North Port Art Center Founders Award.
