A Maryland Institute College of Art MFA with thirty plus years teaching experience, Jasper’s critically acclaimed paintings, honored in juried shows, galleries and museum exhibitions throughout the United States, are held in corporate and private collections internationally. Galleries in Texas, Vermont and Florida represent her work.
Each work starts on a hot-red canvas, the axis for impact dynamics. Light is always my motivation. I prefer the rich colors of early mornings or late afternoons when the sun is low and the shadows long. Choosing what to paint is an emotional decision. Subjects are always real places. Yet, reality of feeling while in the place is more important than location depiction. Through painting I return to an inspiring sight, experienced in solitude, recreated on canvas to be shared.
