Tom Brothers, head framer for Collectors Wall in Sarasota until it’s closing in April 2016, will continue his 36 year service to the region’s art collecting community, decorators and designers, from his new Gallery home, Collectors’ Gallery & Framery, on the island in Downtown Venice.
His work on the opening of the new patient tower of the Sarasota Memorial Hospital is a professional accomplishment of which Tom is most proud. His team selected the artists, decided on the placement of art, and framed and installed the art. “Tom’s strengths in art installation and commercial design forms an unbeatable, professional team as he joins framer, Ed Morrison in our Gallery,”said Leah Sherman, proprietor of Collectors’ Gallery & Framery.
When asked how his career path turned to framing art, Tom said, “I always enjoyed woodworking even as a kid tinkering in the garage with my dad. I enjoy being creative with my hands.”
And when this longtime resident of Osprey was asked for the most recent event of which he is proud, he answered without hesitation, “the birth of my first grandson in January!”
